SS24
"Sea Charm" is a collection that portrays the sea and its traditions.
A sea of glory and tribulation!
Fernando Pessoa's masterpiece, “Mar Português”, serves as the thematic backdrop for NOPIN's SS24 collection, which pays homage to the indomitable spirit, sacrifices, suffering, and unwavering determination of the Portuguese people.
Catarina, the authorial designer of NOPIN, sought to bring the interpretation of the poem “Mar Português" to her creations, as well as all the tradition that Portugal has around the sea.
The "Sea Charm" collection draws its inspiration from a variety of sources: the fisherman's nets, faithfully recreated in organic cotton and meticulously woven on traditional looms; the glistening play of sunlight on the ocean's surface, artfully captured through the application of transparent foil on organic denim and organic mesh
fabrics; recycled lace elements pay homage to the maritime traditions and the resilience of women; the patterns ingeniously crafted with the brand's logo, accentuated by laser-cut details, evoke a sense of danger and suffering; asymmetric stripes boldly reflect the sea's rebellious nature; flowing tulle, adorned with lace strips mimicking
ocean waves; oversized zippers symbolize the conquest of obstacles en route to one's desired destination, embodying Pessoa’s words, "Whoever wants to pass beyond Bojador / Must pass beyond pain"; fabric and color overlays translate the spirit of struggle and the desire to win.
"Sea Charm" is mostly produced with sustainable fabrics, certified and produced in Portugal, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, lyocell, silk, etc.
